Elligint Health / Insurance SaaS CRM (USA)

https://elliginthealth.com  — enterprise healthcare / insurance SaaS CRM for US health plans (Helios platform).

My Achievements in This Project:

Developed and maintained core backend services for a complex enterprise insurance / healthcare CRM using PHP 8+, Symfony, and Yii.

Designed and enhanced business logic across member/client management, workflows, contracts, and configurable care processes.

Refactored legacy Yii components and introduced cleaner Symfony-based solutions following SOLID and maintainable architecture.

Improved reliability with unit tests, production troubleshooting (New Relic / Linux), and AWS-backed services.

My Role in This Project:

Senior Backend Engineer — responsible for backend services, business rules, tests, and production stability on a large US SaaS CRM.

Problems I Solved:

Worked across a mixed Symfony / Yii codebase, modernizing legacy modules without breaking critical healthcare workflows.

Implemented and clarified contracts / interfaces so complex business rules stayed testable and decoupled.

Investigated search and data issues on large datasets (including Elasticsearch) and production incidents affecting live CRM operations.

Used AWS infrastructure and Linux tooling to keep backend services scalable, observable, and maintainable.

Technologies Used: PHP 8+, Symfony, Yii, PHPUnit, Elasticsearch, AWS, MySQL, Linux, New Relic.

Methodology: Agile methodology with Scrum meetings and 2-week sprints.

Duration of the Project: 1-year fixed-term contract (USA, remote), 2025 – 2026.

About Project

Elligint Health is a US healthcare / insurance SaaS company. Its Helios platform is an enterprise CRM and medical-management system for health plans — care management, utilization management, prior authorization, member and provider workflows, quality reporting, and analytics — supporting millions of covered lives. I worked as a Senior Backend Engineer on the core CRM backend that powers these insurance and care-management processes.

My Role & Contributions

I owned backend work on a large-scale insurance CRM: implementing and extending Symfony/Yii services, encoding healthcare and insurance business rules, writing unit tests, applying SOLID and contract-based design, and debugging production issues. I also worked with AWS-hosted services, search/data pipelines, and gradual modernization of legacy code so new features could ship without destabilizing existing workflows.

Key Features and Problem-Solving

01. Healthcare CRM Backend: Built and maintained backend services for member/client records, configurable workflows, assessments, care planning, and insurance-related business processes used by US health plans.

02. Symfony / Yii Architecture: Worked across a dual-framework stack — extending Symfony services while refactoring Yii legacy modules toward cleaner, SOLID-compliant, contract-driven code.

03. Contracts, SOLID & Unit Tests: Introduced and applied interfaces/contracts and PHPUnit coverage around complex rules so changes could be verified safely in a large enterprise codebase.

04. Search, Data & Production Reliability: Optimized Elasticsearch queries, investigated bottlenecks, and used New Relic and Linux tooling to find root causes of production incidents.

05. AWS & Scalable Services: Worked with AWS-backed infrastructure for storage, compute, and high-availability backend services supporting a national-scale insurance SaaS CRM.
